Mirai "My Arts" HomeThis is a featured page

"My Art's" is where I am posting my art for evalustion and reconmendations for pieces.

This first piece I am posting is called Listen to... This poem is was something I wrote durring a writing class I took during the summer in 2008. I was interested in the elements and I wrote this and another poem called Gift of Light which right comes after this first poem.
Listen to . . .
By Mirai McKain
Many people hear the rustle of leaves.
It is something I wish to listen to.

I Remember so I am able to listen
To the Earth’s Ancient and Unknown Past.
listening to . . .
The Chatter of Jewels
Yawning of a Cave
Ambitions of Seeds
Stories from Stones

I Fly so I am able to listen
To the Wind’s Great and Treasured Ventures
listening to . . .
The Gossip of Fields
Complaints of a Tempest
Whispers of the Breeze
Lulling from Clouds

I Create so I am able to listen
To the Fire’s Exciting and Fear-filled Wars
listening to . . .
The Biting of Blades
Hunger of a Volcano
Roars of the Forge
Chirps from Sparks

I Live so I am able to listen
To the Water’s Soft and Chiming Songs
listening to . . .
Wanderings of Streams
The Ideas of an Aurora
Thoughts of the Sea
Breath from Falls

I wish to listen to the rustle of leaves.
Today I hear.
Someday I will listen.

Gift of Light
By Mirai Mckain
We have such precious gifts.
There, a gift we have
one of
Movement
Color
Light
and Shades of Night.
Let me show you why.

Let us travel to the North
and sail into the Cold
Where the life of Ice dances
Aurora's home, a place of Direction.

Let us travel to the Fields
And fly to the Winds
Where the Force of Storms form
Tempest's Domain, a place of Destruction.

Let us travel to the Hearth
And trek to the Ash
Where soul of Cinders unveiled
Volcanoes Reach a place of Resurrection.

Let us travel to the Womb
And climb to theCenter
Where heart of Caves thrive
Cavern's Realm a place of Reflection.

Gift we Have.
Gift of Light.
Gift of Dark.
Gift of Sight.

Please let me know what you think of the two poems.
